Happy Mothers Day to all the hard-working moms!
I’ve been celebrating my two favorite ones today.
But I’ve also thinking a lot about the more than 5000 moms who were separated from their children in Trump’s first term. And the countless now who are facing the same conditions due to his war on immigrants.
Children like eight-year-old Leah are going to school each day, terrified they might not come home to their parents. Five million other children like her face the threat of being separated from their parents by Trump’s inhumane and constitutionally questionable attacks.
Every family has the freedom to stay together, to thrive, and to be there for the moments that matter.
When we fight to keep families together, we honor everything that motherhood stands for.
